Central Board of Secondary Education is an umbrella organization of education covered by the Department of Human Resources Development. The basic idea behind the creation of this organization is to improve the level and quality of teaching in schools across India. CBSE has a scholarship to assist deserving students for tertiary studies. These awards are a source of encouragement to deserving students. Most students are eligible for these grants are from lower income groups.

CBSE Merit Scholarship for undergraduate scholarships for children Single Girl administered to 550 students and has a value of Rs 500 per month. This scholarship is designed for girls to continue their university studies. The duration of this scholarship is 3 years and may be renewed subject to eligibility.

Central Sector Scholarship Program for college and university students This scholarship is awarded to students who have completed their class XII exams with good grades. The number of scholarships is 82,000 per year. and students assigned to continue their graduate studies and doctoral training in colleges and universities. Medical and engineering courses also fall into this category. Rs 1000 per month is given to the student for the first three years of college, the university at graduate and Rs 2000 given to students at postgraduate level. In case of vocational courses, the student will receive Rs 2000 per month in the fourth quarter and year 5. It is subject to renewal within the same year as the duration of the fellowship is 10 months.
